Abstract

“Health Care New Frontier”
Kanagawa’s Innovative Policy for Overcoming the Challenges of Super Aging Society

Ms. Kumiko Miyasaka

Kanagawa, south of Tokyo and home to 9.1 million people, is one of the fastest ageing prefectures in the country.
To lead the way in tackling challenges posted by this unprecedented demographic change, the Kanagawa prefectural government is promoting the “Healthcare New Frontier” policies, which combine two approaches of “pursuit of state-of-the-art healthcare and technology” and “Curing of ME-BYO”, to take on these challenges.
While introducing the key concept to support the “Healthcare New Frontier” policies, Ms. Miyasaka will talk about results and outlook of the concerted efforts with various players, including corporations, academia, local and central governments, and international organizations.
